【ANN NEWS, FLORIDA】 Visitors planning a trip to Walt Disney World in Florida this fall or winter should take note: the popular water attraction “Tiana’s Bayou Adventure” at Magic Kingdom is set to temporarily close.
According to Disney’s latest operating schedule, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will close for planned refurbishment beginning Monday, November 2, 2026. This will be the attraction’s first extended planned refurbishment since it officially opened in 2024. That means November 1 will be its final day of normal operation before the refurbishment.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is located in Frontierland at Magic Kingdom and replaced the classic Splash Mountain attraction familiar to many visitors. Following its redesign, the new attraction, themed around Princess Tiana from Disney’s animated film “The Princess and the Frog,” officially opened on June 28, 2024. The attraction retained Splash Mountain’s water flume and major drop experience while adding Princess Tiana, Louis and a large number of new Audio-Animatronics characters.
The closure comes as Walt Disney World gradually enters its year-end holiday season, making the impact particularly noticeable for visitors planning to visit Magic Kingdom in November.

Disney travel news outlets are currently reporting that the attraction is expected to reopen in December, although an exact date has not yet been announced. Therefore, visitors who have already planned a November trip to Walt Disney World and consider Tiana’s Bayou Adventure a must-do attraction may want to adjust their itineraries in advance. The adjacent Tiana’s Bayou General store will also temporarily close beginning November 2.
Because Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is a large outdoor water attraction, periodic closures for equipment inspections and maintenance are not uncommon. Splash Mountain also previously underwent scheduled maintenance during cooler times of the year.
For visitors planning a year-end trip to Walt Disney World in Florida, the key date is November 2. Those who want to experience Tiana’s Bayou Adventure before the refurbishment should plan to visit on or before November 1. Visitors arriving after November 2 should be prepared for the attraction to be unavailable and continue monitoring Disney’s announcements for a specific reopening date.
